How to make the rest of 2020 the best months yet

The second half of the year is upon us and many of us are wanting to make the most of it. The remainder of 2020 is the perfect time to reflect and evaluate what we’ve been able to achieve thus far. It’s also an opportunity to consider aspects of our lives that need improving before the year is up. From relooking policies like disability cover to crafting a vision or cultivating space, here’s how you can make the rest of the year the best of all.

  1. Evaluate your current policies and consider new ones

This is the perfect opportunity to look at your financial planning and determine which policies need an update. For example, you might want to increase your home contents insurance policy based on new items you’ve purchased. Alternatively, there might be some policies you want to get going on like disability cover. If you don’t already have it, this unforeseen incident cover provides income protection should an accident occur that leaves you unable to work. By doing this now instead of at the start of 2020, you’ll be able to go into next year with a fresh mindset that these bases are covered.

  2. Change the way you see your daily tasks

Most of us are fixated on what we can get done every day instead of what we can work towards each day. Although this mindset allows us to get things done, it often makes us work in a mechanical manner that leaves us feeling unmotivated. By considering the day’s tasks as catalysts towards bigger goals that change our lives, we are more likely to approach them with passion and enthusiasm. This is key to staying motivated and productive for the remainder of the year. It’s also something you can make a habit of for all the years that follow.

  3. Hone your vision

What is your vision for your life? This should be what you want to experience long term and what you are working towards right now. In crafting this, you’ll find yourself less fixated on the small things in your life and more focussed on the big ones. By not sweating the small stuff, you’ll feel more positive about your life and achievements because they’re adding up to your life’s vision. To create this, consider what you want to feel and do each day. How would you like to spend your time and who would you prefer to spend it with? Write this down and keep it somewhere you can see it daily.

  4. Design a space that is yours

In order to truly thrive, we need a space that is ours and a true reflection of us. Whether it is your desk at the office, your bedroom or your entire home, you should take ownership of this particular area. In doing so, you can make it a place that you love to be. It will also serve as a space that inspires you to be yourself and give of your best each day. Most people wait until the start of a new year to do this. This isn’t ideal because they sacrifice the first few months of the year cultivating their space when they could have done this ages ago. Get a head start on next year by doing this now. Fill your space with things that you appreciate and get rid of items from the past that lead to negative feelings. You will be amazed at how different this can make you feel.
