Employer Liability Insurance

Whether they stem from human error or a twist of fate, accidents at the workplace happen. Employers’ liability insurance provides a pay-out in the event that one of your own staff is hurt or incapacitated while on the job. Make sure your company is safeguarded.

This insurance covers damages, which you shall become legally liable to pay, consequent upon death of, or bodily injury to, or illness of any person employed under a contract of service or apprenticeship.

The claim would in the first instance have to be dealt with in terms of the Act regarding Compensation for Occupational Injury and Disease (COID). This is contingency cover and only applies in the event that compensation is limited by or not available from COID.
