Excess Bay Back Protection Insurance – The cover offers you as the client with a goods in transit policy the option to protect yourself against the relevant excess applicable in terms of the existing policy. Speak to one of our brokers for more information or a quotation in this regard.
Please note:
- The territorial limits of the policy are limited to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Malawi. Transit by sea is excluded, but such cover may be arranged if required.
- Losses due to breakdown of refrigeration equipment are excluded. This cover can however be arranged; speak to one of our brokers.
- Theft from unattended vehicles is not covered unless accompanied by forcible and violent entry to, or exit from, either the vehicle, or a securely locked building housing the vehicle.
- Inadequate packaging by you or a supplier can lead to the invalidation of a claim.
- Cover is generally on an all risks basis, however, limited cover (i.e. fire, collision, overturning and theft following collision or overturning) can be arranged at a discounted premium.
- Any unusual types of transit must be discussed with our office/broker prior to the
commencement of a journey.
